Over the past decade, the Missouri Historical Society has greatly expanded its collection documenting the St. Louis area’s LGBTQIA+ history. Freely available to the public, this archive allows us to discover this aspect of our region’s past like never before. Come for a talk by Assistant Curator Ian Darnell, who will survey the collection and offer tips on navigating this history. Afterward, explore highlights of the collection, including St. Louis’s earliest gay periodicals, rare historical photographs, posters from decades’ worth of community events, and much more.
This hands-on experience is perfect for students, scholars, history buffs, or anyone else looking for guidance or inspiration for their own research project.
