WORKSHOP:
Did you know that up to 1 in 4 people with vaginas will experience chronic vulvovaginal pain in their lifetime? Vulvovaginal and pelvic pain is often shrouded in shame, stigma, and silence, but it doesn't have to be! Shag and Tight Lipped are partnering to bring you a workshop and social by and for people living with vulvovaginal and pelvic pain. Tight Lipped is the first and only grassroots movement focused on ending stigma and changing how healthcare systems understand and treat these conditions. In this workshop, we will discuss pelvic anatomy and its role in sexual pleasure. We will explore the expansive ways we can think about and intentionally practice pleasure in everyday moments, sexy ones, on your own or with partners! You will have the opportunity to connect with others and learn more about the advocacy work that Tight Lipped is doing. Loved ones, friends, and allies are also welcome!
SOCIAL:
Come for the workshop, stay for the social. Enjoy drink specials while you mix and mingle with our presenters and fellow attendees, a discounted pop-up shop, and a goodie bag sponsored by System Jo.
OUR PRESENTERS:
Jennifer Vargas (She/Ella) is a Dominican-American woman, a first-generation daughter of immigrants, who was born and raised in New York City. Her service in the world has been focused on the realm of early childhood education. The need for sex education at an early age and her own experience with vulvovaginal and pelvic pain have led her on the path to pleasure and sexuality education. Jennifer believes that pleasure is a birthright and everyone deserves to explore their full spectrum of pleasure!

Tight Lipped launched in May 2019 as a curated storytelling podcast providing a platform for public conversation about chronic vulvovaginal and pelvic pain conditions. Within weeks of releasing the pilot episode, it became clear that Tight Lipped was more than an audio project. They began facilitating community workshops and programs for people with vulvovaginal and pelvic pain.
Now, they’re bringing patients together to fight for change. They’ve expanded to become the first and only grassroots movement working to change how healthcare systems treat people with vulvovaginal and pelvic pain. Their first campaign advocates for OB/GYN residency programs to make diagnosing and managing common vulvovaginal and pelvic pain conditions standard for OB/GYN training.
