Construct your own fantasy architecture imagery with montage artist, art historian, and curator Joseph Staley!
Participants will design a unique structure from paper ephemera: photographs, drawings, scrap paper, fabric, leather, maps, and any/all two-dimensional materials. Each student will walk away with a ready to frame, mounted, archival quality collage.
As an art historian, Joseph will present a visually rich history of architecture, including major milestones like the Imperial Roman invention of concrete and the dome, the Gothic innovation of vaulted ceilings, and the history of minimalist architecture: doing less with more.
Learn about gluing techniques, image archiving, the importance of both planning and improvising ideas, and how to engage both hemispheres of the brain.
All supplies included. No experience necessary. $75 pp.
