About this Event
Saturation, pigment, granulation, masking, sizing, paper weight, texture, building, floating, and more! That was the beginning of what we will go over in this course. Much of it I learned through my own experiments, and some I learned from working in the art materials industry. I’ve worked for many major brands over the years, so I have a lot of juicy information! So take a chance and join me for a few hours of information overload. Pick my brain and we will have a great time, and I will even let you try the products I bring to class.
Michelle Montes - Artist by heart, trade, training and career
Michelle grew up on a farm where she drew horses most of her life until she went to art school. They made her stop so she could learn to draw everything else. She served in the army for four years, worked as a flight attendant for six years until she decided to finish her education by receiving her BFA and MFA in painting and Studio arts.
She taught at the University level teaching painting, drawing, 2-D design and color theory for several years until she ran of to the circus. No wait, she joined the Art Material industry working with most of the manufacturers of fine artist materials. Companies she had worked for include Sennelier, Maimeri, Carson, Arches, Fabriano, Isabey, and so many more.
She is now a certified art materials nut who loves to share all the information in her brain about artist materials
