Join us to find out how small actions can make a big difference to the historic buildings and natural environment in your local area. Whether you are visiting Stirling or live just around the corner, come and meet with representatives from a variety of local and national organisations to try your hand at a range of micro-volunteering activities, hear about how you can help to look after the heritage on your doorstep and be inspired with ideas to take home and share with your community.

This event is taking place at the Engine Shed, Scotland’s first dedicated building conservation centre.

Travel & Access

The Engine Shed is 150m from Stirling train station and step-free access to the bridge that crosses the railway tracks is provided by a lift at either side. Stirling bus station is 260m from the Engine Shed, on the other side of the railway tracks. Access is via a bridge that has a lift at either end. There is also a bike rack outside the Engine Shed as well as bike racks at the train and bus station.

There is no guest parking at the Engine Shed. For blue badge holders, there are two accessible spaces facing the Engine Shed’s entrance. These spaces are 55m to the main door and are located on the road that runs parallel to the railway line. Forthside has a public car park that is 350m from the Engine Shed, along tarmac paths with some raised kerbs, and costs £4 for a full day’s parking.

The Engine Shed is all on one level and there is an accessible toilet on site. Please note there is no cafe at the venue.

This activity is being delivered by Historic Environment Scotland in collaboration with Climate FORTH.

Historic Environment Scotland is the lead public body set up to investigate, care for and promote Scotland’s historic environment.

Climate FORTH is the current project being delivered by the Inner Forth Futures Partnership (RSPB, Fife Council, Clackmannanshire Council, Falkirk Council, Stirling Council, Green Action Trust, Nature Scot, Sustrans, and Historic Environment Scotland) which aims to ensure that the Inner Forth’s heritage is valued and resilient for the future. The project is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
