Join us for a walking tour to find out how the new Broadmarsh Park was designed and planted and to take a look at hydroponic systems.Green Meadows is organising a short and accessible walking tour on Thursday 3rd October.
This will interest both the Green Meadows Gardening groups, people interested in new ways of growing food and anyone in the Meadows who wants to find out how the new Broadmarsh Park was designed and planted.
We will meet at Nottingham Station at 5.30 and walk down to the offices of Leonard Green Architects to be shown their in-office hydroponics system, which they have designed and built themselves from everyday building components. You will be able to see the salad plants that they grow there and regularly eat for lunch and hear about how they designed and made it. The hydroponics system is on an upper floor, but there is a lift.
After that we will be given a tour of the new Broadmarsh Park by Grazia Comai, the project architect from Townshend Landscape Architects in London, who have been responsible for the Park’s design.
The Park is the centre of the new Broadmarsh Development and a major gain for the people of Nottingham, revitalising what has been for many years a soulless part of the walk from the Station to the Market Square.
The evening is due to end sometime between 7.30 and 8.00pm.
