Come to Greenford, meet friendly people and explore this lesser known part of West London with us!
We meet at 11 am at old Holy Cross Church, see and talk about both Holy Cross churches here and then begin a leisurely walk southwards along the ancient Oldfield Lane.
We will pass, and visit if it can be arranged, the only remaining mansion in Greenford - now a community centre, a Hindu temple, a nature reserve and Ravenor Park on the way to the centre. Along the route we will tell you about the history of the area and the changes, along with stories of the people who have lived here.
We will talk about the local businesses and organisations as we walk and discuss the changing demographics of the area.
Often, on our walks we are joined by some people who have links with the area. They may have their own stories to tell us but there will always be the opportunity for you to chat to people, learn about their different lives and make new friends.
When we meet, we would also like to inform you about the local initiatives, charities and organisations led by GOS&D which may be be of use to you or those you know.
As is usual on our walks there will be an optional stop at a local cafe at the end of the walk where we can continue our conversations and have a sit down at the same time.
Attending our events means you can keep in touch with us and other attendees. We run a Facebook group page where we can share pictures, memories and stories from and related to our walks.

Pictures are taken during our walks and some of the walk may be recorded so please let us know if you do not want to be included.
As it is a walking tour, please make sure you wear suitable footwear and clothing.
You take part in our events at your own risk although we take all the precautions to assess the route prior to the walks.
If you can no longer attend please cancel your ticket or notify us so we could offer your place to someone else.
