Are you a business based in West Yorkshire? Do you care about our environment and want to explore how you can contribute to nature recovery in our region? If so, join us to hear about a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for West Yorkshire, share your thoughts and explore opportunities for businesses.
Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) will propose how and where to recover nature and improve the environment across England. They will target actions in locations where they are most needed and where they provide the best environmental outcomes. The strategies will help to join up national efforts to reverse the decline of biodiversity.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) has commissioned Nifty Sustainability CIC to capture the views of businesses, developers, and commercial sector organisations in West Yorkshire, as part of a programme of engagement with different stakeholders and the wider public which is underway.
These discussions will help WYCA to:
- Agree priorities for nature’s recovery
- Propose actions that could help to meet those priorities
- Suggest where those actions could take place
- Share learning and develop support and guidance for organisations
We're keen to hear from businesses across the region to understand perspectives of the LNRS and what you see as the main threats, challenges and opportunities. We also want to identify how we can make the West Yorkshire LNRS work best for businesses to deliver a more sustainable, nature-rich and climate ready West Yorkshire.
