The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a one-mile hike through Longleaf Pine Preserve. We'll discuss the 2024-2025 Explore Volusia Challenge, and you'll learn how to register and participate. Along the way, we'll learn about some of the native plants and animals that make Volusia County such an amazing place. ** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: This will be a moderate hike.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages eight and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes that can get muddy and/or wet, comfortable clothing for the outdoors
WHAT TO BRING: water, bug spray, sunscreen, and a smart phone (not required to participate on the hike)
FACILITIES: There will be no bathroom facilities on site.
