Join artist Jennifer Hughes as she introduces us to the world of oil painting with Cold Wax Medium!
Oil and Cold Wax is a liberating medium that encourages artistic expression and pushing your creative boundaries. Oil and cold wax paintings are generally multilayered and use a variety of techniques and materials. In this 5-part series, students will learn to use the tools, additive and reductive techniques to create work with depth and luminosity.
Note about supplies:
Students will need to bring their own or purchase oil paints and supplies for this class prior to class start date either in-store or online at plazaart.com. See supply list below.
Instructor will provide supplemental materials to allow the students to experiment including non-basic oil paints, pigment powders, stencils, and the tools used in this medium.

ABOUT JENNIFER:
Jennifer Hughes uses oil and cold wax medium to create layered and luminous paintings through the use of line, texture, form and color. She has taught this medium at the Yellow Barn at Glen Echo and the Art League in Alexandria, VA. Her work has been exhibited at Glen Echo, the Torpedo Factory, the Kensington Art Show.
