Take an interpretive journey through woods and meadows to experience the varied ecosystems at Wizard Ranch Nature Preserve. See the progress of the ecological restoration which began here in 2021. This is a favored location by many bird watchers and is home to a variety of avian species. Many early spring plants will likely be emerging and trees beginning to bud, making this a great chance to see nature awakening for the spring season!
What to Expect: This hike will travel both the red trail (a loop of 2.5 miles) and the white trail (a loop of 1 mile) for total hike of 3.5-4 miles. There is a port-a-john on site. This event is for ages 13 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
What to Bring: Bring water, snacks, appropriate clothing, binoculars (optional), pertinent personal first aid, and hiking poles (optional).
Event Leader Bio: Mary Patterson is an Interpretive Ranger with Lancaster Conservancy. She is passionate about wildflowers, butterflies, and all the wonderful things that can be discovered outside.
Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.
Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed, and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.
