About this Event
This expert witness training focuses on specific aspects of the law for those writing clinical negligence reports. Negligence may be alleged in any area of medicine, but some of the most common areas for litigation include emergency medicine, surgery and obstetrics.
The course covers general expert duties, legal breach of duty, informed consent, report writing, other CPR 35 duties, conference with counsel, and giving evidence in court in (alleged) clinical negligence cases against medical staff.
Experts will each be given an opportunity to fully explore the issues surrounding expert evidence in clinical negligence cases and how to avoid litigation in their own practice.
Attending ensures entry onto the SpecialistInfo Faculty of Expert Witnesses listing, for eligible medical professionals, and awards 5 CPD points.
The course presenters are Jonathan Dingle and Andrea Barnes, leading barristers from Normanton Chambers.
