Course objectives:
Students will be able to
‧do still life drawing (with various objects and human figures as the drawing topics)
‧apply art theories on the usage of values, colors, proportion, lines, pictorial structures and other art elements
‧experience with different drawing media, e.g. pencils, color pencils, charcoal, ink and various canvas or paper
‧learn various drawing techniques through studying different sketch drawings by famous artists
Age: For 12 years old or above
Date (One session per week):
Wed 5:00 - 7:00pm
Course Fee: £48/4 sessions (2 hr each), including material fee

About learning and teaching at Project 226 studio:
In our studio, we teach each student individually according to his/her own background and interest. The teacher:students ratio is kept under 1:12. In the intermediate level or above, each student chooses his/her own topics for painting or drawing.You are welcome to choose subject matters for your drawings and paintings. We would also suggest various topics as well, from simple objects for beginners to more complex still life sets, images from photographs, life drawing etc.
We do demonstrate for different steps and encourage to learn through practising.

About the art mentors
Gum CHENG:
Gum was born in Hong Kong. In 1998, Gum completed the social work programme at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He graduated with distinction of Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) in Drawing, at RMIT University in 2002. In 2007, Gum received M.A. in Comparative and Public History from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Gum was a member of School Management Committee. He is a registered social worker, part-time lecturer of HK Art School, founder of C & G Artpartment, Wooferten; core member of a Hong Kong non-profit art group “Project 226”, chairman of Art Together Limited(charity organization). Since 2000, he has curated more than 100 art exhibitions, educational programme, seminars, exchange programme etc. His curatorial directions mainly criticize politics, social issues and art eco-system. His artworks explore various media, like painting, drawing, performance, stop-motion animation, photography, video and installation.

課程目標（學員將會）：
‧以靜物、風景及人物寫生為主要創作主題
‧循序漸進掌握素描技巧，靈活運用結構造型、光暗、比例、色彩對比及線條等繪畫元素
‧透過運用不同媒材(如: 鉛筆、木顏色、炭筆、墨水筆等)和不同的紙張、布料，嘗試以實驗方式，探討鉛筆及紙以外的素描方法與技巧
‧欣賞歷代及當代的素描創作，從中學習不同的繪畫技法
有關226 工作室的 學與教：
我們根據每位學生的背景和興趣，提供個別指導。老師和學生的比例維持在1:12以內。到了中階或更高的程度，學生可以自己挑選繪畫或素描的主題。當然，如果你有自己感興趣的主題，也歡迎提出。我們會建議參加者不同創作題材的，從對適合初學者的簡單物件到更有挑戰性的靜物、照片中的場景，甚至是人物素描等等。
我們不僅示範不同的繪畫步驟，也鼓勵大家通過實際日常應用來學習。

About the art mentors
Gum CHENG:
香港出生。1998年畢業於香港理工大學應用社會科學系，2002年獲RMIT University純藝術(素描)學士學位。2007年獲香港中文大學比較及公共歷史碩士學位。
曾任中學校董、現為註冊社工、兼任藝術學院講師、C & G藝術單位及活化廳創辦人之一、藝術團體二二六工程要員、慈善團體藝術到家有限公司主席。自2000年始策展藝術展覽、教育、研討、交流等活動數以百項。策展理念以質疑政治、社會、民生議題及藝術制度為主。個人藝術創作範疇廣泛，包括：繪畫、素描、行為藝術、單格動畫、攝影、錄像、裝置等。
