About this Event
Tuesday mornings from 9 - 11:30am, 19 November - 10 December at Atwell House.
This 4 week course is facilitated by experienced printmaker and educator, Bridget Seaton. The course runs 4 times a year and each term we explore a different printmaking method such as, monotype, relief and intaglio printing, artist books, collagraphs and more. The class is all about playful printmaking and learning to think outside the box, exploring textures, mark making and layering through creative techniques and approaches. Although landscape and natural form is often used as a starting point for projects, you are free to use whatever subject matter that inspires you.
This term we will be exploring the monotype printmaking technique. Monotype is a form of printmaking that does not require cutting or engraving. Instead ink is applied in variuos ways to a plate of Perspex to create an image. The print is taken by transferring the ink from the Perspex to a sheet of paper. Once the print has been taken it cannot be repeated and this gives it the name monotype. This immediate technique gives quick results and can be done at home with minimal equipment. Bridget has been honing her skills in this method for many years and will share some of her favourite techniques with you.
All all printmaking materials, tools and inks are included in the price but you will need to supply your own paper. Please wait for the first class before purchasing your own paper. Paper is available to buy in class or Jacksons nearby.
Refund policy: a refund can be given up to 7 days before the course begins. The Eventbrite fee (approx $17 is non rufundable) No refunds for missed individual classes.
