Description:
Experience the Drummer in You is a rhythm based workshop for adults interested in beginner-friendly group drumming and music making with an emphasis on mind-body connection. The principles of presence and awareness are presented throughout this program using a combination of drumming, breath work and mindfulness practices.

When people play rhythms together they synchronize their brains and bodies through a phenomenon known as “Rhythmic Brainwave Entrainment”. Playing repeated patterns with a group aligns everyone to the same pulse and the results are felt individually and collectively. Everyone contributes their unique rhythm into a shared group sound creating an in the moment musical experience. By guiding participants through freedom of expression on the drums they will begin to discover their natural pulse creating a cohesive group.

Matt Price is a Professional Drum Circle Facilitator based out of Pittsburgh. Since 2017 he has facilitated over 1000 drum circles for people of all ages, interests, and skill levels. These include team building drum circles, workshops and retreats, senior care drum circles, and drum circles for the youth. Matt is a graduate from Berklee College of Music (2009) and has completed training with Arthur Hull (2023) and Jim Donovan (2017) in the art of drum circle facilitation.
