Each Thursday during Lent, February 19-March 26, we have an opportunity to gather with the Sisters and faith community at Holy Wisdom Monastery for evening prayers. Pastor Kris and Pastor Peter will greet you at the main doors of the upper building at 4 pm. After a brief introduction to the prayer book and a description of Contemplative Prayer, we will take part in the evening prayer. From the Holy Wisdom website, "The heart of this monastic prayer is the sung and recited psalms... In addition to psalms, the Liturgy of the Hours includes hymns, readings from scripture and other writings, and intercessory prayer for all those who have asked for our prayers. Woven throughout are times of silence, space for God’s presence to be experienced."Please PRE-REGISTER. There is a link in the comments below. Anyone from the community can participate, but we would like to know you are coming so we can welcome you when you arrive. There is no cost to take part in the prayer sessions.
If you would like to stay for dinner afterwards, the cost for the meal is $23. Dinners need to be ordered 48 hours in advance, so make sure to register at the link above by Tuesday at noon of the week you will be eating. Email Pastor Kris ([email protected]) to order.
