Join us for an intimate exploration of the Saint Louis Art Museum’s stunning outdoor sculpture garden, designed by renowned French landscape architect Michel Desvigne. The curated space integrates the Museum’s exceptional collection of 20th-century and contemporary sculptures with thoughtful landscape design and architecture, creating a harmonious setting for art, nature, and contemplation.
Guiding us on this special tour is Simon Kelly, Modern and Contemporary Art Curator, who will provide insight into the monumental sculptures, the artists behind them, and how these works interact with the surrounding natural and built environments.
The outdoor collection features sculptures by Jacques Lipchitz, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Henry Moore. We will be viewing these, along with other works located outside the museum, including pieces by Andy Goldsworthy, Alexander Calder, Claes Oldenburg, and Mark di Suvero. This is an up-close opportunity to engage with and learn about these masterworks.

Consider arriving early for lunch at Panorama, the Museum’s full-service restaurant - reservations are recommended. The casual Museum Cafe, open until 4 p.m., is a great spot to gather afterward and reflect on the day’s experience.

ADMISSION: Reservation is encouraged for this free Art Collaborative event. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability.
PARKING: Free public parking is available in the two lots on the north side of Fine Arts Drive, across from the Museum. Accessible parking is available in the public lots and the parking garage. Accessible entrances to the Museum are located at the East Building and in the garage.
WHAT IS THE ART COLLABORATIVE? An interactive, dynamic forum designed to connect art to people and people with art. Facilitated by artist Judith Shaw, this initiative aims to draw together a diverse, creative community of artists and art enthusiasts interested in sharing ideas, inspiration, resources, and information about what drives their creative passion, process, and purpose. The group meets quarterly in different art venues, including artists’ studios, for hands-on, immersive experiences. Our goal is to foster cross-pollination among innovative institutions, organizations, and neighborhoods to showcase the vibrant art landscape in our region.
