Mull’s breath taking landscape combines, forests, secluded glens, the dramatic Ben More mountain range, red granite coves, white sandy beaches and sparkling sea views across to far away islands.
The island is known as a wildlife haven with red deer, golden eagles and white tailed sea eagles with dolphins, whales and porpoises swimming in the surrounding waters.
Mull is an energetically rich and powerful place – it’s epic and wild landscapes are forged from some of the oldest rocks on the planet and scattered with an abundance of ancient and sacred sites. There is even a massive Neolithic standing stone covered in crystals in the grounds of the retreat venue!

*Weather permitting some practices will be held on nearby beaches, in the grounds of the venue overlooking a loch, stone circles, beaches on Iona, the St Columba hotel meditation garden on Iona along with the church hall which is a scenic 5 minute walk from our home.

IONA
The Isle of Iona is a 10 minute ferry from Fionnphort. A very beautiful island with a magical energy and expansive white beaches. A totally unspoiled natural environment with Dolphin, porpoise, orca, basking sharks and Minke whale regularly reported in the surrounding waters.
Iona has been a popular place of pilgrimage and remains so today, with it’s famous Abbey and stunning Celtic crosses.It is a place where saints have lived and where prayers have been answered. Until very recently, the physical journey to Iona was a hard one and even today no one visits Iona without a sense of being on a journey…
We will go to Iona for a day to practice in different locations and to have lunch at the famous St Columba Hotel.
STAFFA
The most dramatic of the Scottish Isles and a National Nature Reserve -this little island looks like it may be from a different planet. Its hexagonal columns were formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions and a vast blanket of lava that spread into the Atlantic Ocean. Years of waves crashing against these columns created the magnificent Fingal’s Cave.
We will take a boat trip there….

Achaban House in Fionnphort is a charming home full of historic character but with a contemporary comfort and style. Airy and spacious bedrooms, comfy living rooms with wood-burning stove and big dining room. The south-facing location overlooking Loch Pottie is stunning and it’s surrounded by unspoiled countryside, full of wildlife, with many beautiful beaches nearby!
