Det är två moderna storstadssymfonier som färdas längs vägar mellan kärlek och korruption och kantas av både skarpa iakttagelser och varm humor, fulla av mångtydighet och motsägelsefullhet. Två medelfilmer som får ta precis så lång tid de behöver, varken mer eller mindre.
⭢ First Time (Nicolaas Schmidt, Tyskland, 50 minuter)
Ett möte mellan två pojkar på ringlinjen U3 i Hamburg. Något föds - inte mycket, ändå betyder det allt. Tåget passerar station efter station. Ljus ändras utanför och inuti. Allt är stilla och i ständig rörelse. Blickar och tystnader mellan protagonister mitt bland passagerare, ljud och musik. Kärlekens tidslinje kan vara en cirkel.
⭢ Temo Re (Anka Gujabidze, Georgien, 50 minuter)
Temo är en arbetslös skådespelare som kör mopedbud kors och tvärs genom Tblisi. Staden blir ett galleri av krossade drömmar i detta gripande men humoristiska äventyr berättat i svartvita stillbilder, där den dagliga färden genom den överdådigt förfallna gatorna förvandlas till en mardrömslik vision av fattigdom, korruption och främlingskap.

Uppsala Kortfilmfestival, som är Sveriges enda renodlade kortfilmfestival och främsta arena för internationell kortfilm, har sedan starten 1982 etablerat sig som en av Europas viktigare kortfilmfestivaler.

Mellan 17.00-21.00 är det Art Night i museet. Baren har öppet mellan 17.00 och 21.00, barmeny och kylda drycker. Kom gärna tidigt och stanna en stund efter visningen.

Uppsala Short Film Festival screens two of the the best of new medium length films It’s two modern city symphonies travelling between love and corruption with sharp observations and warm humour along the way, full of complexities and contradictions. Two medium length films taking their time, exactly as much as they need.
First Time (Nicolaas Schmidt, Germany, 50 minutes)
Two boys meet on a round trip with the Hamburg U3 line. Something is born – not much, yet everything. The train runs through station after station. Lights change on the outside and inside. Everything is still, and in constant movement. Glances and silences, passengers and protagonists in the midst of silence, noise and music. The timeline of love could be a circle.
Temo Re (Anka Gujabidze, Georgia, 50 minutes)
Temo is an unemployed actor who drives around 100km a day on a scooter, performing the duty of a delivery man. The city becomes a gallery of broken dreams in this poignant but humorous black and white photo-roman adventure, in which a daily ride through the opulently dilapidated Georgian capital Tbilisi morphs into a nightmarish vision of poverty, corruption and estrangement.

Founded in 1982, Uppsala Short Film Festival is Sweden’s only festival dedicated exclusively to short films and the country’s leading platform for international short cinema. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most important short film festivals in Europe.

Art Night takes place at the museum from 5–9 pm. The bar will be open throughout the evening, serving a bar menu and chilled drinks. Feel free to arrive early and stay for a while after the films.
