Save the date(s) and come check out my first solo exhibition!“Those who leave and those who stay” will be showing at @Mixed Zoning as part of the Head On Photo Festival 2025's Open Program.
Part of an ongoing visual investigation on cultural landscapes and place narratives of working-class and urban cultures, “Those who leave and those who stay” features a collection of streetscapes taken in the eastern outskirts of Naples (Italy), around the blocks of public housing and the industrial areas of the working-class neighbourhood where I trace back my family history.
With the title directly quoting one of the novels of Elena Ferrante's worldwide acclaimed Neapolitan Quartet – set in the very same neighbourhood pictured in the photos – my first solo show aims to articulating diasporic feelings of longing for “home” over almost fifteen years after departing my hometown.
