Join us for the Opening Event of local artist Christian Hansen’s exhibition, ‘Elements of Hannah Watts’. This exhibition exploring the many sides to Melton’s beloved historical icon Hannah ‘Grannie’ Watts, features new works by Melton Arts & Culture’s Artist in Residence, Christian Hansen.
Christian will be joined by exhibition curators from the Arts Team who will provide a tour of the exhibition, giving you the chance to ask questions about the artworks and the life of beloved midwife and Melton icon Hannah Watts along the way.

ABOUT CHRISTIAN HANSEN
Christian Hansen is an emerging artist with Australian and Romani cultural heritage. He lives and works in Melton. He works primarily with acrylic, gouache, oil, encaustic painting, pencil and pastel on paper and canvas to explore his interests in culture and history.
He is interested in examining local histories, cultural expression, and the politics of colonialism through his symbolic works. He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and his work is held in in private collections throughout Australia.
