For many years no-one was interested in Impressionists art until a new breed of collectors, amongst whom was the visionary Danish businessman, Wilhelm Hansen. He amassed a remarkable collection at his summer home near Copenhagen. This film is a fascinating story from Hansen's house and gardens at Ordrupgaard to the streets of Bohemian Paris, a journey discovering the best examples of 19th Century French art.
