Portraits self-portraits everyday and dreamlike scenes address universal themes and symbols that challenge the viewer depict women independently openly and with a gender perspective and establish a direct connection between what is real and what is represented revealing the illustrator herself in the illustration. This anthology also showcases different techniques and formats providing a snapshot of the creative experimental and dynamic nature of the contemporary illustration landscape through artists that think outside the formal limits of illustration and use their creations to champion the concept of "the illustrator as an author" in its most inclusive and universal conception.
The exhibition compiles a selection of artworks showcased at the second edition of MiiC Mostra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea which took place in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) between December 2018 and March 2019.
