Director's Choice highlights the gallery’s diverse stockroom and includes artists who will be exhibited in 2026. Director Mike Mitchell has selected artworks from the Gallery’s collection showcasing a mix of contemporary and Aboriginal art.
A dynamic mix of works by contemporary artists , , , , , , and feature in this year’s selection.
Impressively scaled paintings by Bombatu Napangardi, and drawn from the Gallery’s collection also feature.
2025 Hadley’s Art Prize winner features artworks that embody the raw intensity of the natural environment. Working directly within nature, Cape employs unconventional materials and processes to investigate themes of survival, decay, and the human condition.
The exhibition also features paintings by emerging Sunshine Coast based artist . Her vibrant, large-scale abstract oil works are bold, expressive, and rich in gestural energy.

Mitchell Fine Art is open 6 days a week; Mon - Fri 10:00am - 5:30pm, Sat 10:00am - 5:00pm, with onsite parking available. The gallery is fully wheelchair accessible.
