About this Event
This body of work, created as a jabot (jah-bō)—a symbol of judicial regalia—honors the wisdom of trees, drawing from Indigenous traditions of reverence and adornment. Installed on mature branches, it shifts trees from commodities to relational entities, highlighting their role in the water, nitrogen, and carbon cycles. Metaphorically, the jabot places trees at the High Court’s table, inviting viewers to consider their voice through natural law and their lived experience. Exhibited work by Kathrine Cays.
