About this Event
As an owner or key employee of a small business, do you have a plan for if...
-An accident takes you away from work for a couple of weeks?
-You need to take care of a sick family member and the time you have to spend at the office becomes limited?
-You want to take a vacation (a real one, not one where you need to check your email every 15 minutes)?
Learn how to create and utilize a concise, accessible guide for your employees or peers to reference in the event that you need (or want!) to step away from the business for a short time - whether planned or unplanned.
In this workshop we will:
-Get some of the wisdom that lives in your head on paper
-Teach you how to document your most important tasks quickly and effectively
-Create a series of simple, easily utilized documents that you can use to teach your employees or peers how to Make Sure the Lights Stay On in your absence
-Teach you how to communicate to your employees or peers how to handle Fires in your absence
-Give you better perspective on where you should be spending your time when you are in the business
In this workshop we will NOT:
-Write full training manuals
-Make a specific plan for every "what if..." problem your company could face
-Document your whole company's processes (this is about the individual, not the organization)
-Make you easy to replace
