The stunning Bottle Creek site, accessible only by boat, features 18 earthen mounds built centuries ago by Native Americans and was once of the largest communities in the Southeast. Note that we board upriver at Live Oak Landing! The landing is located just off of Alabama State Highway 225, less than a mile north of I-65 in the Stockton area. (Please arrive early to board for the cruise.
Wear shoes suitable for hiking about a half mile and bring snacks/water as desired. Please be aware if there are high water levels in the Delta which flood Mound Island, we may need to reschedule. We will notify all guests as early as possible in this event.
