Back by popular demand - Waioneke School is delighted to host another Fundraising Trek, offering a rare opportunity to experience the stunning, usually inaccessible private farmland and forestry of the South Head peninsula. Your participation directly supports Waioneke School!Event Details
On Saturday, February 14th 2026, you can choose to walk, run, or ride a self-guided, clearly marked 10km or 20km loop.
• Location: Private Farm and Forestry, South Head Area.
• Routes: Self-guided 10km and 20km loop options.
• Views: Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views spanning the Kaipara Harbour, the West Coast (Muriwai), Tapora, and Sand Island. This is a truly unique opportunity you won't want to miss!
Key Timings
7:00 am: Gates Open
8:00 am: Runners & Walkers Start (Set off at your own pace.)
8:30 am: Riders Briefing (Compulsory for all riders.)
8:35 am onwards: Riders Start (Staggered departures in groups at 5-10 minute intervals.)
Important Note for Riders: Please bring your own horse. This is a strictly walking-only pace for all horses and riders.
Tickets and Refreshments
• Your ticket price includes a delicious sausage sizzle and a slice of cake upon your return!
• Cold drinks will be available to purchase on the day.
