We are excited to invite you to be a part of an initiative sponsored by the Government of Alberta and led by the Nigerian-Canadian Association of Calgary (NCAC). Through an Ethno-Cultural Grant (ECG), NCAC will be rolling out a comprehensive program designed to empower and support the Black immigrant community (who arrived in Canada in the last 10 years) in Calgary over the next two years.Our ECG program includes the following key components:
1 Entrepreneurship Training and Support
2 Skilled Trade Training
3 Professional and Career Bridging
4 Career Counseling, Workplace Integration, and Job Placement
To ensure that these programs have a meaningful and long-lasting impact, NCAC has collaborated with respected partner organizations dedicated to supporting the community. Project activities are set to begin soon, and we warmly invite you to participate actively as opportunities arise.
Upcoming Engagement Session:
We will hold our next engagement session on November 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Ghana House. Please register for the event at SkillUp BuildUp Registration.
Current Available Sessions:
1 Heavy Equipment Operator Training (12 weeks in-person day time sessions starting end of Nov 2024). *Daily 1 hour commute to the College and purchase of PPE is required by participants.
2 Sales Training (6 weeks virtual evening sessions starting in December 2024).
3 Entrepreneurship and Business Start-Up Training (8 weeks hybrid sessions starting December 2024).
4 Mentorship sessions (8 weeks sessions starting December 2024).
