
About this Event
The Competent Person for Excavation Safety seminar is designed to provide students with an awareness of the 1926 Subpart P Excavation Standard as well as an introduction to current protective system design and selection. For those employees that an employer wishes to be a Competent Person the class will provide the technical education component of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Competent Person requirements.
Course Topics Include:
- OSHA Excavation Standard
- Soil Analysis and Soil Classification
- Protective System Planning and Selection
- Job Planning Related to Trench Safety
- Competent Person Responsibilities
