Six of the best experimental acts for £5 suggested donation! B.Y.O.B!
Weapon Eyes:
One of the many projects by Alastair Johnson from Southend. First class beat driven experimental noise. Always amazing live. Through the Rehearsal Rooms system this will be amazing! First time in Bury St Edmunds!
MINDINFECTEDFUTUREFACTION:
Miff Is best known for his awesome photography, this is his solo project! This is the artist’s explanation: “Dunno, err, fucking, err, Jungle Weeb from Ipswich? I don't fucking know. It's just fucking Jungle with a Punk Weeb twist, innit.”
Baramuszczak:
Baramuszczak is the new harsh noise specific project from Jay Trench Art. Jay is best known for his power electronics project Italian Books, which is currently on hiatus as new ideas are explored. Using Jay’s family’s name on his mother’s side, Baramuszczak brings together sampled synthesiser parts, live electronics and field recordings to deliver a heavily distorted collage of sound. Live, this work is largely improvised, inviting the moment to shape the sonic journey with the gaps in sound as important as the sounds themselves. Basamuszczak asks no questions and offers no answers. Baramuszczak is what it is.
The Breedling:
The Breedling is the musical pseudonym of visual artist Chris Spalton. Based in Norfolk, Spalton’s work can be seen as being in the tradition of the storyteller. Hot off the heels of his debut release Irukandji (Wrong Speed, 2023) which has been described as instinctive playful. Expect primal rhythmic drone st it’ best!
there are no birds here:
ExBURYmental favourite! There are no birds here utilises synthesisers, field recordings and acoustic instruments to make sounds which explore Suffolk’s rural soundscapes. Harsh yet soothing, deeply considered experimental sounds!
Mosaic Tapes:
First time at ExBURYmental. Mosaic Tapes takes traditional sounds and reappropriates and re-contextualises them to create stuttering and drifting passages, drawing inspiration from skipping CDs, passing conversations and broken shortwave radios.
