What is Evolution Summer Fest?In short, it’s a single day DIY music fest.
With a nod to DC’s Revolution Summer of ‘85, Evolution Summer Fest is a single-day music festival in Hickory, NC showcasing Carolina-centric punk and indie bands. The goal of the fest is to reignite the long lost DIY music scene in Hickory and the surrounding area by providing a platform for original music from local and regional bands. The current music scene primarily consists of bar covers and tribute bands, but there is so much original talent around and we are trying to bring that community back to life.
