Shenandoah County Dept. of Fire and Rescue, in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, will be sponsoring an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course for Class I, 11, and Illapparatus. This 16 hour- certification course is designed to acquaint students with the theories and practices of emergency vehicle operations and explain the differences between emergency and non-emergency driving.
This course DOES NOT teach students how to drive - student should have adequate driving experience, in the vehicle type and classification which he/she attempts to gain certification in, before taking this course.

Cost: $25.00 per student
Prerequisites: MUST be 18 years of age and have a valid unrestricted driver's license with on-the-road driving experience with vehicle type and classification being attempted.
Registration: Anyone interested in attending shall submit payment and a completed training request by November 1, 2025. Forms can be downloaded from scfr.net
Must REGISTER on CSOD: Session #42326100.
Special Note: Candidates must attend 100% of the training program. Successful completion of the written and practical evolutions is required for certification.
