Preregistration is required to attend all classes and workshops at Arleneās. Space is limited so please register soon. Click the link to register online. Otherwise, please come into the store, at 57 Fuller Rd Albany NY, or call us, (518) 482-8881, to reserve your space.
Do I want bristle or synthetic brushes? Why do some of my oil paint tubes say "transparent"? Why are there so many types of canvas? What's a "medium," why do I need it, and which one do I want? In this workshop Corey Pitkin will guide students through the minefield of oil painting supplies. Corey will show you the materials he uses (and tell you why he doesn't use some others) while he paints a portrait from a live model using a simple palette of 6 colors. Bring a notebook and all of your questions! Photographs of the demo are allowed.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
