Everyday Sketching: Gestures & Movements with artist in residence Ottavia Huang

Join Ottavia to capture the energy and flow of human movement using watercolor and ink. This workshop celebrates the beauty of everyday gestures, turning simple poses into lively, expressive sketches. You’ll explore quick studies, playful lines, and the joy of observing people in motion. Ottavia will guide you step‑by‑step as you create a watercolor and pen sketch from a photograph—from the initial pencil layout, to inking your lines, to finishing with watercolor. Supplies are not included in the workshop fee. A PDF supply list is available in the workshop description.
Please note that our classes are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
