About this event
The Human Rights Commission -- in partnership with the SF Public Library, Mo'MAGIC, and Collective Impact -- invites you to the Beyond the Books Workshop.
Join Everybody Read for a workshop highlighting culturally affirming and relevant BIPOC books and curriculum. The Everybody Reads program is not only about literacy but about ways the young reader can reimagine themselves, set their goals, and follow their dreams. The curriculum encourages the reader to engage with the story and promotes learning in a fun way. In this workshop for service providers and summer educators in San Francisco, you will learn more about how to use the materials in an intentional way that urges youth to read.
Everybody Reads provides books and literacy support to service providers and caregivers in order to support the efforts of SFUSD and the broader community to interrupt learning loss patterns when students are out of the classroom.
Our first workshop will be held on May 19, at the San Francisco Main Public Library - Creative Center
Our second workshop will be held on May 23 in the historic Bayview Opera House, The training will be limited to 20 participants. Covid protocols will be followed. Boxed lunch will be provided.
