EveryBody Dances @ Yale Schwarzman Center brings local and visiting dance artists to our Dance Studio to teach masterclasses in jazz, hip hop, salsa, modern, contemporary, precision dance and more! All community members are welcome. This week's class will be led by Bijayini Satpathy.Satpathy will teach Odissi Technique, a sampling of basic somatic and kinesthetic principles of Odissi. Satpathy will share fundamental nuances and salient features of Odissi through basic movement units. The session will culminate in a choreographic sequence. Participants with prior experience in any movement discipline will benefit.
Notes for participants:
Time: This special edition of EveryBody Dances takes place in the afternoon from 2 - 3:30pm.
Clothing: Participants are encouraged to wear ParIndian style Kurta and Salwar or long Yoga pants and t-shirts. (Shorts and skirts are not recommended as they are not conducive to this class).
Footwear: Dancers must be barefoot for this class.
This week's workshop is for all levels of dancers age 15+.
