Collage artist Andrea Bergen creates funky and colorful portraits of quirky animals and landscapes. Set in a post-apocalyptic future devoid of humankind, animals take back the land as righteously theirs and bring forth a new era of peace. Animals previously seen as vermin become the keepers of the land, brought into the sunlight, living without threat of exterminating forces. They live like kings with the junk food left behind, embodying reparations paid forward. Color, texture and composition play equal parts in the chaos of these comical scenes as Bergen appeals to utopian fantasy that isn’t anthropocentric.
