Our aim is to bring together all of us involved in running events in Gosport (large or small, non-profit or commercial). The local events scene is thriving due to our hard work and those of our supporters... But perhaps there is a lack of communication among us, leading to some events not getting sufficient publicity or duplication of effort?
Should we be:
- creating a "clash diary" to help with future scheduling?
- sharing our expertise , experience and contacts?
- working together to represent the interests of local organisers and venues?
- contributing money ourselves or looking for external funding?
- exploring ideas for how might we might formally organise ourselves?
- what do you think? we want to hear both negative and positive opinions!?!
To explore those questions this pilot project has been initiated, aiming to bring organisers together and establish a forum for collaboration. Gosport Voluntary Action as an independent and impartial organisation is taking the lead.
Come and enjoy a casual conversational evening of networking and discussion in the BORO bar at Gosport Borough FC. The bar will be open and we'll provide some snacks and pizza.
A possible goal is to prioritise cultural funding within the town by building a strong network of event organisers, suppliers and artists to boost our contribution to the town's creative economy and make everyone's lives easier.
We have secured free room hire and aim to involve key players and experts in future meetings. This could lead to collaborative bids for funding in the future or the formation of a working group or perhaps some form of association? Tell us what you think!
