April 19 Event Safety Planning WorkshopRSVP REQUIRED
PJALS is offering this workshop on nonviolent de-escalation skills and event safety planning in support of Coeur d'Alene's upcoming Pride in the Park. Come learn how safety planning and trained peacekeepers can help create a successful social justice, peace, and liberation event. We'll cover nonviolence principles and guidelines; strategies and techniques to prevent, defuse, and de-escalate potentially volatile scenarios; and how to organize a team of peacekeepers.
This workshop will begin to prepare Pride in the Park planners; organizers will also hold an in-person practice and prep session to complete the training.
Useful for protesters, organizers, and folks thinking of volunteering as peacekeepers for any social justice cause.
