Please join us to for an evening celebrating International Translation Day with the debut of a new multimodal translation project that recreates the atmosphere of Paul Celan’s poem “Todesfuge” [“Death Fugue”]. This translation attempts to communicate the poem’s essence through musical composition, animation, and a reading of the poem in German and English. We hope to see you at this Open House Reception—featuring light refreshments—that is free and open to UTD students, staff, faculty, friends of literary translation, as well as the larger DFW community.
Time, date, location: Tuesday, October 1, 5-7 pm, JO 4.122 (Jonsson Center). For those attending from off-campus, paid parking is available on the ground level of Parking Structure 3 (PS3, 800 N. Loop Road, Richardson, TX, 75080).
