Sunday, September 29 at 4pm, The Cathedral Choir will sing the first Evensong of the season, featuring works of Byrd, Vaughan Williams, Smith and others. A concert precedes Evensong at 3:30pm featuring Chimera Guitar Quartet. -- Choral Evensongs offer a beguiling invitation. Patterned on the ancient service of evening prayer, it marks the setting of the sun and the coming of darkness from which a new day will dawn. Therefore, at the close of day, we pause to give thanks for what has been. The Cathedral Choir lifts our prayers to God through rich and expansive choral settings.
