Satori
by Zsófi Börcsök
If you think about it, it doesn’t make sense. If you want to put it into words, it loses its meaning. You cannot grasp it, and you cannot fight it. It underlies everything; it’s your own essence and the very essence of every creature. It is who you truly are.
But in order to recognize its existence, you need to go through an individual path, which will lead you to let go... to let go and surrender. Because only by surrendering to what it is, can you expose the illusion. Only then, are you able to wake up.
Satori is the conclusion of a research process on how to empty oneself.
It explores the idea that completeness is not a faraway point to be achieved, rather to be found in ourselves here and now.
Concept/Dance/Choreography: Zsófi Börcsök
Music: Esther Moreno
Gefördert durch die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien im Programm NEUSTART KULTUR, Hilfsprogramm DIS-TANZEN des Dachverband Tanz Deutschland.

Makaya
Tagalog translation for ‘cope’
by Ann Francis Ang
Dedicated to Florinda and Al Quin, my role models of strength and unconditional love. ‘Makaya’ is a solo-work that was created in autumn of 2020, where hope and uncertainty could have felt like one in the same. Choreographed and performed by Ann Francis Ang, this solo delves into the different coping mechanisms of grief – from denial to acceptance, in which ever order grief hits you, one goes through a physical and emotional journey that takes its time to findsolace. The work is currently divided into four sections. Each section explores and embodies thedifferent effects caused by grief, and how one copes at each individual stage of grief.
