Please join us on Monday evening, October 13, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Butterworth Center Library for a presentation by Sarah Rovang, author of Through the Long Desert: Georgia O’Keefe and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Rovang is known for unearthing the details of Georgia O’Keefe’s visit to the Deere and Company headquarters gala opening in 1964. In her new book,Rovang brings to life the little known, enduring story of the friendship between Georgia O’Keefe and Frank Lloyd Wright. As an architectural historian, her richly illustrated new book weaves together the stories of these two icons who were born 20 years and 60 miles apart in SW Wisconsin. They were rarely in the same place at the same time, yet who uncannily forged similar trails and were deeply influenced by upper Midwest landscapes as well as the open desert spaces of the Southwest.
A book signing will follow her presentation.
