About this Event
Evening wildflower walk in People's Park
Join us for an evening’s stroll around People’s Park as we take a look at some of the wildflowers growing there.
People’s Park has beautiful sloping grassland as well as a small woodland. We’ll learn about some of the plants that grow in both of these habitat areas. You'll be learning to identify some key species as well as understanding the important role they play for biodiversity in our area.
The walk will be led by local resident and wildlife enthusiast Sam Mostyn-Willis. He works as the Horticultural Coordinator for Luton’s Parks and Countryside Services and is an experienced volunteer leader, planning and running activities across Luton's parks and wildlife sites.
This event is free, but please let us know if you can no longer make it, as places are limited. Children are welcome, but parents/guardians must supervise their children.
Well-behaved dogs on a short lead welcome, too.
Meet 7.30 pm prompt at the Green flag in People's Park.
Estimated end time is 9pm.

People's Park Community Orchard
Off Havelock Rd
LU2 7YE
People's Park is a large park with several entrances. We'll meet at the green flag near the community orchard on the Havelock Road side of the Park. You'll find the flag post along the diagonal path across the park between Kingston Road and Havelock Road/corner of Clarendon Road.

Parking</h4>
There is a small car park off Havelock Road by the playground, but spaces tend to fill up. Kingston Road has free on-street parking, but again, spaces are limited. Best is if you can come on foot.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing. This is a slow-paced gentle walk, but some of the paths in People's Park are quite steep.
If you have an access need, please contact us before you book. We may be able to tweak the route to make it navigable with a mobility scooter, for example.
Summer walks series
This is the second in our series of summer walks. Still to come is the Butterfly Walk on Saturday 27 July.
