About Nature Bathing:
Nature bathing (also called forest bathing) is simple — it’s the practice of being physically immersed in nature. You are led by a guide who will help you to slow down, focus on your senses, and relax. The practice started in Japan in the 1980s and has become part of public health systems around the world.
Nature bathing is evidence-based, offering benefits for mental & physical health. Research has demonstrated positive effects on immune function, anxiety, depression, pain, hypertension, stress-related conditions, attention, and energy levels. (Learn more about the science)
About the Event Leader:
Juju Lane is a certified nature therapy guide, trained by the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy. She studied environmental humanities at Princeton University and now spends her free time exploring Brooklyn’s greenspaces. Juju has volunteered as a community rep for ParkRx America, a physician-led nonprofit that promotes the health benefits of nature with nature prescriptions. She can’t wait to share these benefits with you!
