What is a sound bath and what are the benefits?
This acoustic multi-instrumental sound bath is a relaxing and therapeutic practice using a range of instruments to induce a deeply relaxed meditative state. A growing body of clinical research and controlled studies highlight the power of music and sound vibrations in mood enhancement, improved relaxation, better sleep, and relief from depression and anxiety. There’s also evidence that music therapy can be effective for healing, as it encourages relaxation and brings your body into a parasympathetic state. In this state, your body produces nitric oxide, which opens blood vessels, increases your cells’ efficiency, and regulates blood pressure – all things that will aid a healing response.
What do you need to bring?
Please bring a cushion, a thick blanket or sleeping bag (ideally a sleeping bag), and anything that will help create a comfortable and cosy environment. I like to say to attendees 'imagine you're going camping! The warmer you are, the more relaxed you'll be and the more you'll benefit from this experience.
Foam mats and eye bags are provided, but you’re very welcome to bring your own. I encourage all attendees to avoid stimulants and alcohol on the day of the session and to not to eat 2 hours before the session, but if necessary – keep it light.
