Work with the movements of your body to create large-scale paintings and drawings. This evening class celebrates the final weeks of Movements for Staying Alive with an invitation to create large-scale paintings and drawings in Modern Art Oxford’s Upper Gallery. Touching on dis/ability, and the irregularities of our bodies, we will create a collaborative and tactile response to Jane Castree’s new commission, Creativity in Motion, to be displayed in Modern Art Oxford’s Yard. Considering movement as a universal language used to express ideas, needs, and emotions transcending barriers of speaking and writing, we will use our bodies as implements to leave behind a collective impression of our own unique movement possibilities and choreographies.
What To Expect:
This class provides an introduction to working with the movements of your body in an expressive and accessible way, inviting group discussion within a lively, social setting.
The activities will involve messy materials, so if possible, please wear old, comfortable clothing.
