In this two-day workshop, students will learn various techniques that will engage them in drawing plant life in an immersive way. Not only will students understand how to depict the likeness of a plant, students will also learn how to convey the individual plant’s “personality” through an interactive study of the plant.
On the first day, students will meet at the Washington Studio School (WSS) for a drawing session that will prepare them for drawing on-site at the U.S. Botanic Garden.
On the second day, students will draw in the grand Tropics house at the U.S. Botanic Garden and be fully immersed in various plant species as they monitor their behavior by night.
This workshop will be offered after hours, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, at both WSS and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
