This unique event brings together leading American and Ukrainian universities--UC Berkeley and Ukrainian Catholic University--to highlight the importance of environmental preservation and the damage that Russia's war against Ukraine is bringing not only to Ukrainian civilians but also to our planet.The event will feature insights from top environmental academics and first-hand accounts form Svidok.org, Ukraine's National War Archive partnered with Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of the Environment.
The evening will also include:
(1) A special address from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine;
(2) A multimedia exhibit of Ukrainians' first-hand accounts, including a museum-style exhibit of posters and a mini-documentary;
(3) Short talks from leading academics about environmental preservation and a presentation of the efforts undertaken by the Ukrainian Catholic University in this critical space;
(4) An opportunity to meet and engage in one-on-one conversations with the creators of the Svidok.org initiative;
(5) A three-course banquet dinner with delicious Ukrainian specialties, offering opportunities for one-on-one conversations with cultural leaders.
The suggested entrance donations cover the costs of organizing and catering the event and are considered tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Any further donations and proceeds will be used exclusively to provide medical aid for Ukraine's frontline defenders and support our cultural and educational programs in Ukraine.
